A trading journal for prop firm challenges

TradeForge team · Last updated

A challenge gives you a profit target and two loss limits, and one bad day can break both limits. TradeForge reads your trades from cTrader, TradeLocker or an MT5 report and gives each trading day a plan, a rules check on every trade, and a review.

A challenge day in TradeForge

  1. Before the open, write the day's plan in your journal: what you will trade and when you will stop.
  2. Your trades come in from your broker. Live accounts sync every few hours while you use TradeForge, and Sync now pulls them on demand.
  3. Open each trade. Tick the strategy rules you followed, pick how you felt, and tag any of 12 common mistakes.
  4. After the close, write the review and one lesson for tomorrow.
  5. Every Monday morning, an email sums up your trading week.

Numbers built from your broker's records

  • Net P&L after swap and commission. TradeLocker is the exception: its P&L leaves out fees.
  • Risk Reward on every trade with a stop loss. When there was none, type the amount you risked and get an estimated Risk Reward, marked ≈.
  • Win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average Risk Reward and max drawdown for the range you pick.
  • A month calendar tinted by each day's P&L, with your best and worst day.
  • Rules met, mistake-free trades and days journaled, across all your accounts.

How much can you still lose today?

Enter your firm's rules and today's numbers. The calculator shows how much you can still lose today and overall, which limit you hit first, and the largest risk per trade that survives a run of losses. It runs in your browser and needs no account.

What TradeForge doesn't do

TradeForge reads closed trades. Your firm checks its loss limits against live equity, open trades included, so keep your firm's dashboard open while you trade. TradeForge doesn't track your firm's rules for you, and it never places trades.

Works with your firm's platform

Platforms TradeForge connects to
cTraderView-only sign-in at cTrader (live sync), or a statement CSV you upload
MetaTrader 5An HTML history report you save in MT5 and upload
TradeLockerYour TradeLocker email, password and server, stored encrypted

MT4, DXtrade and Match-Trader are not supported yet.

Questions

Which prop firms does it work with?

Any firm whose account runs on cTrader or TradeLocker, or that lets you save an MT5 history report. TradeForge connects to the platform, not the firm.

Can I journal more than one challenge?

Yes. Connect up to 5 accounts. The journal and analytics combine them, and the dashboard and calendar show one account at a time.

Can TradeForge place trades?

No. It only reads your trades. There is no code that places orders.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The live demo is the real app with sample data and needs no signup.

What does it cost?

€17.99 a month, or €179.90 a year. Your local price and VAT appear at checkout.
